The Disability Programs Coordinator is a key position in the Sydney Community College Social Inclusion Unit. The Disability Programs Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a new two year pilot ‘Inclusive Community Education Program’ (ICEP), and for increasing the capacity of the Social Inclusion Unit to meet the learning and recreation needs of people with a disability in the college community.


The ICEP will provide an interesting and diverse range of supported daytime, evening and weekend opportunities for adult participants with low to complex support needs at our Rozelle site. Funded by Ageing, Disability & Home Care (ADHC), NSW Department of Human Services, the ICEP will provide the opportunity for participants to interact with their peer group and build social networks, whilst providing respite for carers.


Reporting to the Manager – Social Inclusion, the Disability Programs Coordinator will be a skilled and committed professional with extensive experience in developing complex programs providing high quality learning and/or recreation services to people with low to complex support needs, including intellectual disability.


Remuneration package

$60–70K package (including leave leading and superannuation)

The Discipline of Psychological Medicine within the Sydney Medical School brings together a large group of expert medical teachers and training facilities that create outstanding opportunities for clinical education.


An exiting opportunity based at Westmead Hospital, has become available for a proactive individual to design and develop interactive learning components for the anxiety disorder education module. This course is aimed at qualified practitioners who would like to develop their knowledge as part of their continuing education.


In consultation with academic staff of the Discipline of Psychiatry, the incumbent will develop a 12 module course and online components which comprise of web interfaces, online tutorials, video demonstrations as well as setting up and maintaining a dedicated website for the program.


To be successful, you will have demonstrated project management skills and experience in multimedia/web design, instructional design and educational technology with the ability to develop distance online learning courses. Health related tertiary qualifications; familiarity with online assessments and anxiety disorders is desirable.


The position is full time fixed term for one year, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. There is the possibility of further offers of employment, subject to funding and need. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.


Remuneration package

A competitive remuneration package is available (which includes a base salary Level 6, leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).

My name is Gareth Griffiths, I am 30 years old and am a qualified teacher in Psychology. For the past 4 years I have been teaching Psychology on an hourly paid basis in two colleges in South Wales, in the United Kingdom .Until the end of the previous termIworked for two “Coleg Gwent campuses”, I have been teaching in Crosskeys College for the past 3 years and Newport College ( Nash College ) for the period of time between 2004 and 2006 at GCSE , AS and A2 levels. During my time at Newport I have also taught Social Psychology units for several Access to Nursing groups and also for Access to Social Science courses.


The college teaching takes up about two thirds of my teaching time as I also have a position at Newport University (south Wales, United Kingdom) where I teach several different modules for first year degree students, 7 of which I am the module leader for (child development, life-span development, stress, 2 cognitive modules, the psychology of crime and the psychology of the courtroom).


I am contacting you as I will be moving to the Perth area (Rockingham)in early September and I am very interested in the work you are doing and feel that I could contribute a great deal to it. I am very interested in working as a tutor, lecturer or in education of some kind when I arrive in Perth . I have a working visa and would be looking to continue my role in education as I feel I have a real talent for making learning an interesting experience for young and old students alike.
