NEC and consortium partners ALA, ASCCA and U3A Online have won a Federal Government tender, specifically The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), to supply hardware and connectivity for up to 2,000 internet kiosks. The primary purpose of the kiosks is to provide access and training to Senior Citizens who may have no PC or Internet access available to them. The Kiosks will be hosted in public places such as Council Offices, Community Centres and Aged Care Villages etc. Cost for these centres to host the Kiosks will only be for Power for the PCs as all other costs are covered by the Government for a three year period.
